The Nokia 2700 is a mobile phone released in January of 2009 running off of the GSM network. Featuring a color screen and yet a nine digit keypad, the device offers individuals the ability to use some smart phone features while sticking true to the more traditional dial pad.

For anyone who wants to run WhatsApp on the device it is possible, thanks to the elementary operating system found on the device (it came out two years after the original iPhone). While now powerful on specs, it is an excellent travel phone and one that provides several nice features.

nokia_2700_classicTech Features

The Nokia 2700 features a 2 inch screen with 240 by 320 pixels. It is not a touch screen but instead has a five-way navigation key directly under the screen, which is offset by a call/power and end/cancel button. The phone itself has a microSD card slow, capable of accepting up to 2 GB worth of additional storage.

The phone itself only has 32 MB, so when installing WhatsApp, it is important to install it onto the microSD card slot as the 32 MB is quickly taken up by the phonebook and other basic operating system features.

The Nokia 2700 features a 2 MP camera with basic 15 fps video capture. It has a 3.55 headphone jack, stereo FM connection and a microUSB 2.0 hook up port. It runs off of the Java MIDP 2.1 operating system. It also comes with a built in MP3/MP4 audio/video playback feature as well as predictive text input for making texting easier.

Installation

In order to install WhatsApp onto the Nokia 2700, the application must first be downloaded onto a computer. The user must navigate over to the Java MIDP home page and search “WhatsApp” under the listing of application.

Once the application is available the user must download the earliest offering of the app to the computer. After this is complete, they need to connect the Nokia 2700 to the computer using a micro USB cable. The file can then be dragged and dropped into the phone’s listed folder (make sure the 2 GB microSD card is inserted). From here, the user can access the folder from the phone, which launches the installation. After installation is complete they just need to walk through the installation prompts, associate their mobile phone number and complete activation to launch the WhatsApp application.

Whatsapp for Nokia 6300 and 6303

Is Whatsapp On Nokia 6300 And 6303 Possible?

Nokia 6300 and Nokia 6303 are two feature phones released in 2007 and 2009 respectively. At their time of release, they were good devices running the S40 Symbian OS.

Nokia 6300 and Nokia 6303Under the hood, the Nokia 6300 features a 2.0 inches 200 PPI screen with a TFT active matrix display. It has a somewhat disappointing 2.0 MP camera and a QCIF Video camera that can shoot 480p video. It has 7.8MB internal memory but can support the external memory of up to 2GB. It is Java™ enabled with the ability to run MIDP 2.0 applications.

It has Bluetooth connectivity, radio, and a mini USB.The phone has 860 mAh batteries and weighs 91 grams. The 6303 is the successor to the 6300.It is a more improved version of a better camera 3.2Mp, more resolution on the display, more modern design, a bigger 1050mAh battery. The Candy bar phone supports up to 8GB memory card.

WhatsApp is an immensely popular free cross-platform messaging app that allows users to send and receive messages, images and videos using via a data connection. If you were seeking to install WhatsApp on these two phones, the 1st place you should check the WhatsApp Nokia List.

Unfortunately for these two, they are not there. There are several reasons why a phone may not run WhatsApp. It should be pointed out that these two phones came into being way before we had WhatsApp. So that they still running strong is a testament to how reliable these two beloved Nokia’s are.

1. INTERNAL MEMORY

The Nokia 6303 has only 18 MB whereas the Nokia 6300 has even more disappointing 7.8MB.These capacities are too small in the world where 16GB has come to be accepted as a bare minimum. WhatsApp needs enough memory to do what’s it’s meant to Do. It is a multimedia messaging platform that’s sends videos and Images. Even the size of the application itself can barely be enough. At the time of their release, these two devices lacked support to run applications from their memory card. Both have capable external memory support that is fast but require OS support to optimize it.If you do manage to install it using back, street non-supported methods, expect force shutdowns and weak performance.

2. S40 OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION

It comes with S40 OS software that is unfortunately not upgradable to the latest Asha platform. It renders it useless in today’s world.

3. RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY

It comes with a fixed 64 MB of RAM that is simply a joke in today’s world.2GB RAM is the industry standard, and 4GB devices are becoming more common. WhatsApp needs around 150 MB of RAM for it to run smoothly. At 64 MB RAM, it will have forced shutdowns and unreliable performance.

4. SCREEN SIZE

These two devices have a resolution of 240 by 320.It is a disappointing display in a world of AMOLED and IPS LCD displays. The messages and images would look washed out, and it wouldn’t play even average videos.

Other reasons that will compromise your experience include a small battery.1050mAh battery is nothing to brag. Some phones have up to 4000mH juices that will keep it powered for two days.

These two phones are decent phones with a reliable performance. They just don’t stand a chance in today’s world.

WhatsApp is a cross-platform messaging app that has proven immensely popular. It allows users to send and receive messages, images and videos using their internet connection. Unfortunately for Nokia 6600 and Nokia 6630, the device is too old. A quick search on the list of supported devices by WhatsApp shows it’s not possible to install it on Nokia 6600 and Nokia 6630.

3 Reasons Why Nokia 6600 And 6630 Can’t Run Whatsapp

There are three main reasons why WhatsApp is not supported. For a device that was released in 2004, expecting it run an app published in 2010 shows how robust Nokia phones are.

Internal Memory

The 1st reason is the small internal memory these devices support. The Nokia 6630 has 10MB internal memory expandable to 64MB whereas the Nokia 6600 has 6MB.Compare this with 16GB base memory many devices come. This memory constraint means the application will struggle to do basic things like capture pictures, send and receive videos, store its data and other essential WhatsApp needs. The most obvious sign of this will be the app sometimes refusing to load.

Ram Siuze

The 2rd reason is that the Random Access Memory is too small. It only has 24MB of Ram compared to today’s devices that have 4GB memory. This memory is too low considering WhatsApp sets up to 100 MB of memory for itself. It means the application will clog out the memory fast leading to force shutdowns.

OS Version

The minimum requirements for Nokia devices to have WhatsApp support is Symbian 60 3rd edition. The operating system these two devices are too old. The devices themselves don’t support updates to supported versions.

To install WhatsApp on the Nokia Symbian series you need to follow a series of simple steps.

WhatsApp: released a new Beta version for Nokia Asha

nokia ashaDuring the last few weeks WhatsApp has introduced many updates on almost every platform which supports this popular instant messaging app, which, according to recent statistics, is currently the most used in the world. As usual, most of them were for Android devices, but we’ve seen, for example, that also BlackBerry or iPhone have not been forgotten.

Luckily WhatsApp developers still dedicate part of their time to Symbian 40 platform, and finally during the last few days a new Beta version of WhatsApp for this platform has been released. So, if you are one among those who use WhatsApp from a Nokia Asha device, you surely will be eager to download this new Beta version 2.12.92 of WhatsApp for Symbian 40.

If you were expecting substantial updates, well, maybe you will be a little disappointed because this is not yet happening. But let’s see what changes. Actually this new version fixes some bugs and brings some improvements. Consequently, by installing this new beta on your Symbian 40 device, WhatsApp should work in a more stable way.

You will not find this new 2.12.92 version on the Opera Mobile Store, which is the Nokia Store, as it is still in Beta. If you want to download it, you can easily do it from the official website of WhatsApp. All you have to do is to open the browser from your Symbian 40 and connect to the site by typing whatsapp.com/s40/.

Once you have downloaded WhatsApp 2.12.92.jad file you just have to install it on your Nokia Asha, or on any device which runs on Symbian 40. If you prefer to be sure that even this new beta doesn’t contain errors, you can always  wait for the release of its stable version. Talking about major updates, there are no news concerning the Voice Calling feature. This option, as you well know, is already available on Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10.

WhatsApp for Android: the update introduces a new keyword search function

whatsapp updateIf you use WhatsApp with an Android device, you’ll be glad to know that the search function has been improved. In fact now you can search through all your conversations at once.

The popular instant messaging service owned by Facebook is currently used by hundreds of millions of people. The app is downloadable on iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS, Windows Phone and some Nokia devices. So, everyone has noticed that the Android platform is the one more often updated, and recently, with version 2.12.34, we have seen also adding Material Design between its new interfaces.

Well, in addition to this major update, an incredibly useful new feature has been added. This change allows you to search in all your conversations with a keyword, so you don’t have to go through one by one. This is definitely an important improvement, which will save us a lot of time.

In fact, so far the research could only be done on a specific string of text or a phrase in a single conversation. But now, once you choose a keyword, you can search through all your WhatsApp messages in one time. Isnt’ it fantastic? To use this option you just have to type the keyword in the search bar, and you can see all your chats containing that word. More or less what you already do with Google.

It goes without saying that this new function is extremely welcomed, considering how much we use WhatsApp not just with friends and family, but also for our job.But do you rememer that you can save your messages? If you don’t, dont worry, it’s simple. Just go to Settings > Chat Setting > Chat Backup. This function was added by WhatsApp with the 2.12.45 APK and allows you also to choose how often you want your messages to be saved.
