How to Install WhatsApp on Nokia N-Gage
The Nokia N-Gage has been out for a while now, but many people still have a nostalgic love for this old handheld gaming phone. While general services for the phone might feel a bit antiquated, it can still play your old favorites, connect to Wi-Fi and even be used for instant messaging. This guide will show you how to install WhatsApp.

Step 1: Download

This is the trickiest part. Current versions of WhatsApp are not supported for the N-Gage, so you will need a legacy version. There is not an official download site, so you may want to consider peer-to-peer sharing to find what you need. The N-Gage used Symbian OS v6.1 as an operating system, so you want a version of WhatsApp that is compatible with this OS. For newer Nokia phones, you can find supported versions of the app here.

Installing

Once you have downloaded the right version of WhatsApp, you need to install it on your N-Gage memory card. Connect the card to your computer, and open a window to view the memory card’s folders and files.

Now leave that window in the background for a moment. The folder you will need is hidden by default. On Windows 7 or newer, simply type “show hidden files” in the search window and it will pull up the setting you need to change. Make sure you can see hidden files and folders.

With this step done, go back to your memory card window and open the folder named “system”. Inside that folder will be a list of others. Open the one named “apps”.

In order to fully install WhatsApp on the memory card, you simply need to copy and paste a few items. On your extracted download, you should see at least three folders: apps, data and libs. In the apps folder there should be another folder named “WhatsApp”. Copy it into the corresponding folder on the memory card. Within the data folder is an additional folder called “plugins”.

Again, copy it into the matching folder on your memory card. Finally, there is a folder called “libs”. Inside this folder are a few others and then a long list of files. Copy all of the files but none of the folders into the same named folder on your memory card. There may be other files or folders on your download, but they are unnecessary.

How To Install WhatsApp on a Nokia N9 Smartphone

The Nokia N9 is one of the most critically acclaimed smartphones released by the Finnish communications company. The Nokia N9 has been on the market since its release on September 27th, 2011. It was developed on the Linux-based MeeGo operating system.

The Nokia N9 is available in black, blue, and red color designs, and it has as size of 3.9 inches with a 58 percent screen-to-body ratio.

This phone weighs about 5 ounces, and its front-facing 8 megapixel camera has geo-tagging, face detection, and touch-focus features. The battery of this phone is a Li-Ion 1450 mAh battery that can last up to 16 days on stand-by. The total dimensions for this phone are 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches.

– First, click on “Web.”

– When you are on the Internet, type “openwhatsapp.org” into the Web browser at the top of the screen.

– The next screen should show you three different phone options, including a Blackberry Z10, Blackberry Q10, and a Nokia N9. Select the Nokia N9.

– Once you have the WhatsApp application on your phone, just click it. The logo is green and has a quotation bubble with a phone in the middle of it.

– You will be asked to select your country. After that, you will have to enter your country code and then your phone number. After you have completed this, just click “Next.”

– The WhatsApp team will send a code to your Nokia N9. Write down this code on a sheet of paper if you have a bad memory. Then, plug in the code on the next step in the WhatsApp registration. After putting this code in, the WhatsApp should be ready to use on your phone.

The Nokia C5 is a bit of an old-school phone. Released in 2010, this bad boy packs a 2.2-inch display and a classic physical number pad. It has a 3 MP camera, 128 MB RAM, and 50 MB of expandable storage. Not a lot by today’s standards, but it was a fairly solid smartphone when it was released.

While many other Series 40 Nokia phones are compatible with Whatsapp, the Nokia 7210 Supernova phone is not compatible with this application due to its lack of necessary processor speed and memory capability.
