WhatsApp for Windows Phone: the latest 2.17.86 beta version brings a new feature that will help you organise your chats

WP Size TabGreat news for Windows Phone users. WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned instant messaging app, has just rolled out a new Beta version that will further improve the app performances, introducing some important updates that will help better manage your chats. Bad news is that for the moment the new features are available only for beta testers. Let’s see what’s happening.

As we said, the service has just released the new 2.17.86 beta version of the app for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1 devices. This latest update it’s quite a major one, since it adds a new feature “Size” tab. Why this latest option is important? Thanks to this new feature users will get information about how much space a chat is taking up and which chat takes most of the space on app storage. Isn’t it useful? We are sure that Windows Phone users will appreciate this new feature.

Furthermore, beta version 2.17.86 comes with other new features. For example individual chat information such as how many messages have been shared between your contacts, or how many GIFs have been sent will be displayed.

That’s how the changelog explains to WhatsApp users these latest updates: ”Clicking on individual chats now gives you more detailed information. The Size tab contains the same data in a different order since the size is sorted by the size of Images and Text but not by the number.”.

As we said above, for now this is a beta version available just to beta testers, but we are convinced that the “Size” tab will soon be added to stable versions too. In any case, if you prefer to install the beta version on your Windows Phone device you can easily join the program. Just go to the Windows Store and sign up for the program.

Android and iOS platforms have not yet received this update, but we are sure that they will receive it soon.
