WhatsApp for Windows Phone: the new Beta version 2.17.162 adds a new feature

WP Pin Chat featureDespite a few unexpected difficulties experienced recently (see the outages occurred in several countries during the last month), WhatsApp developers keep rolling out updated versions of our favourite instant messaging app, always offering new features and improved performances.

So today we are going to talk about the latest beta version of WhatsApp available for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile which has been recently released. This latest update is number 2.17.162, and adds two new features.

The first one is already public, and allows Widows Phone users to pin a conversation to their list of conversations. This new “Pin Chats” feature is enabled by default and is finally available for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile users. While we are very glad about this new option, unfortunately the second one is still hidden. What is it about?

It is the new location sharing feature, which we have already seen in Facebook Messenger. The new location sharing feature allows users to share their current location for a specific period, for example an hour. Developers are still testing this new live location feature, so we are not yet able to tell you when you are allowed to use it. Furthermore, Windows Phone users are still waiting to be able to use the Revoke/Recall message feature which, as far as we know, is still being tested by WhatsApp developers.

You can download this latest update of the Facebook-owned instant messaging app straight from the Windows Store, clicking on this link.
