An updated version (number 2.12.340.2) of WhatsApp for BlackBerry 10 smartphones is available, and brings some considerable improvements along with the usual bug fixes. The news can sound a little bit odd considering that the developers of WhatsApp have announced a few months ago that they will stop updating BlackBerry 10 OS by the end of this year. But, until then, they are still working on the platform to keep it updated and smoothly running, and that’s good news. So, starting from January 2017, WhatsApp will still run on BlackBerry 10, but the app will no longer receive updates, just those concerning the security of the app.
That being said, let’s see what changes with this latest 2.12.340.2 version of WhatsApp for BlackBerry 10. First of all it has been added the support for web link previews on outgoing messages. Furthermore, this updated version of the app finally supports additional web client features and also the contact info screen has been updated for the organization of phone number.
What’s really great is that developers were also able to solve a couple of annoying errors that were causing issues to the users of BlackBerry 10 devices : the first problem solved concerned the history backup process, the other one was related to the connection via proxy servers. As we said, these issues have been fixed so now you shouldn’t encounter problems anymore.
