You can find it by typing “iTunes Media” into the search field of your computer (both Windows and Mac), then choose “Mobile Applications” and find the WhatsApp file.

Now that you have located the WhatsApp file, connect the iPod to your computer system and launch SynciOS. In the menu choose “My Device” and select the “install” button on the left side of the screen. This is going to allow you to select different applications that you have on your computer to install it onto your iPod. This is going to copy the application file from the computer to your iPod. Now that you have it installed, disconnect your iPod from the computer and activate WhatsApp.

From here, you need to install Whatsapp onto a different mobile device (such as your phone) and type in your mobile phone number to activate it. Now, connect your mobile phone to the computer and launch SynciOS and choose the “WhatsApp” option when the phone syncs. Click the “Export” button, then disconnect and connect your iPod back to the computer and drag the exported material into the open window to sync your phone number with your iPod to complete the process.

If you want to send a picture or a video, press the open blank area where you would type a message to the recipient, then push the paperclip icon. This brings up a selection of different options and you can choose to include a picture or video here. Do note that if you are sending a longer video, you need to remain in your data zone, whether it is WiFi or 4G connection, until the video has completely gone through (the check mark appears next to the sent message). You are free to also save any of your images as a user icon, if you go to your “Profile Settings”.

A WhatsApp emulator for iOS – Mac through… Android!
It’s called BlueStacks and is available from summer 2012: Bluestacks App Player makes it possible to run Android apps on many operating systems such as pre-existing MAC iOS. Simply download and install this software from this page to have a valid Whatsapp version running on your Mac desktop computer. Once downloaded, this emulator can be installed and run as on your iPhone or smartphone. However, to download the Android version, you must create a valid Google account to download it from the Play sotre. As happens on  iOS and Android mobile phones (but we should remembered that WhatsApp works also with Blackberry, Symbian, Nokia S40 and Windows Phone), the application must be validated by entering a valid mobile number.

  • Go To Settings
  • Tap on Chat Settings
  • Tap Advanced
  • Turn Last Seen Timestamp from On to Off

This disables the ability for other users to see when the last time you were on the application which allows you to have privacy and be hidden when using the application.

Backing Up Your Chats
Many users may use the application and accidentally delete a message that was important without the ability to retrieve the message. Backing up your chats will allow you the ability to never fully lose or permanently delete your chats. In your IOS version of Whatsapp there is a way to turn on this setting.

  • Go To Settings
  • Tap on Chat Settings
  • Tap on Chat Back Up
  • Tap on Back Up Now

This option will save all your chats to your SD card on your device to ensure that every message you are involved in will be saved.

Stop Whatsapp Images From Being Saved In Your Gallery
When receiving images on Whatsapp the pictures will automatically save into your gallery. Some people do not wish to have this option activated so there is a way to turn this off.

  • Go To Your Device Settings
  • Go To Privacy
  • Slide Whatsapp from Green to White to disable

Again, regarding iOS, what about installing WhatsApp on the latest beta of iOS 8? Well, it’s almost impossible. The latest Beta 4 of the Apple operating system was released only Monday but many people are still reporting problems on this messaging app, as it happened before in the previous three Betas released in the past. WhatsApp on iOS 4 Beta 8 doesn’t work very well. The application crashes, the conversations’ history can be lost and more generally there are delays in receiving and sending messages to and from contacts and friends.

A solution to the problem? For now, no, and I do not think it will be available before a final release of the firmware in September. The incompatibility also in the latest beta of iOS 8 will perhaps not be eliminated in any of the future provisional firmware releases. WhatsApp developers will probably need to adapt their application of the operating system that will be released within two months.

In the past I criticized the bugs of iOS WhatsApp and the work of Apple, assuming that  iMessage was the root of these problems. Surely the two messaging applications (Whatsapp and iMessage) are very similar, and promote the use of Apple software rather than those of competitors (like others Facebook app). Certainly WhatsApp will work perfectly on iOS released in September, but in the meantime for all those who are testing this Beta of the new firmware, iMessage it’s the only app working correctly !

Once Bluestacks has installed, perform a search for “WhatsApp” (click on the “search” icon and digit “Whatsapp”). That should turn up the WhatsApp messenger app: simply click on and install it. Once WhatsApp has been installed, you’ll need to verify your phone number by entering it where required. Than you can import your contacts list and finally initiate any conversations by either chatting, calling, or emailing. How to (quickly) install Whatsapp on your Apple / Mac desktop
To install Whatsapp on a MAC you need Bluestacks. That’s it. Bluestacks is a software that “virtualizes” Android, allowing, therefore, to install and use Whatsapp as if you owned an Android smartphone (but actually running it into your Mac).

First step, download Bluestacks for Mac from this link. Then, open the DMG file you just downloaded and drag the icon into the Applications folder. Wait until the program completes the configuration (it takes about 2-3 minutes). When the Configuration is complete, in the upper right part of the windows click on the search button that will allow you to search for applications that can be installed on Bluestacks. Type “Whatsapp” and click “Find”.  A list of related applications. Find Whatsapp and click Install.

If you see the following error message: no apps found then check network connectivity and do not despair. Bluestacks is still in beta, and it is normal sometimes to see similar errors.

Now, to download Whatsapp follow these steps: From the main screen go the App Store, search for “WhatsApp” and choose “Download”. You will then be asked to create a Gmail account, or if you already have one, insert an existing one. Accept the terms of use, select “Accept & download” and wait for the installation to finish.

Now that you have installed WhatsApp, you have to configure it with the mobile phone number. Return to the main screen by selecting the icon of Bluestacks at the center of the bottom bar. On the main screen select “My Apps” and then, select Whatsapp to start the application. Accept all the conditions, enter your phone number and complete the “verification process”. This is it. Now, every time you need to start Bluestacks on your Macbook Air or Pro just go straight to “My Apps > Whatsapp” from the BlueStacks menu !

Another simpler (and easier option) to use Whatsapp on a MAC is to install the Chrome Browser for Mac (click here) and then connecting to the Whatsapp Web online service (click here) which allows you to manage Whatsapp directly from your browser. Done !
