The Blackberry Curve 9360 came out when BlackBerry was making several high-end devices for the masses. While the company has more or less stopped producing new mobile phones, the Blackberry Curve 9360 came out towards the end of 2011.
It has some nice features and, for those who like the physical keyboard instead of a touchscreen, this is a nice phone option for those who are looking for it. It is also able to run WhatsApp for easier texting and calling services.
About the Blackberry Curve 9360
The Blackberry Curve 9360 features a 360 by 480 pixel screen that is 2.44 inches in size. It is a bit smaller than other BlackBerry models, although it isn’t the smallest. The Curve name comes from the metal bezel around the sides of the phone, which makes it easier to handle. The device runs BlackBerry OS 7 and is supported by the GSM mobile network. It does have a 800MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM (along with 512 MB of storage, so there isn’t a problem running applications). While there is no front facing camera, it does have a 5 MP rear camera.
The Blackberry Curve 9360 is available in either black or white and supports a microSD memory card expansion slot. It can connect to the Internet through Wi-Fi and it also has GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 3G mobile support (it does not support 4G).
Installing WhatsApp
Installing WhatsApp onto the Blackberry Curve 9360 is rather straight forward. Through the BlackBerry OS 7 there is a mobile app store. First, the individual needs to connect to a Wi-Fi network in order to avoid data charges for downloading and installing.
Once connected and the application store is open, the individual just needs to search for WhatApp and then select it to download. After approving the download the application will download to the mobile device and install automatically.
After the installation has finished, an individual just needs to open the app. WhatsApp will present a few questions, such as connecting the current phonebook to WhatsApp in order to see who all has the application.
Once it has done this it will ask if the user wants to send out a text message to those who are not using the app in order to expand upon the services someone can take advantage of. After completing the setup process it is possible to begin using the software.
