To install WhatsApp please make sure your Blackberry OS version is 5.0 or higher and you have a BlackBerry Internet Service plan. To download the app please go to this page on your BlackBerry phone. After the download is complete please navigate to the location on your phone you downloaded the file. We will then utilize the Desktop Manager to install the app. Unzip the file which will then create multiple files. Don’t worry it’s not too confusing on which file is which.
Open your Desktop Manager and you should see an icon that says “Application Loader”. Please open the Application Loader by clicking it. Select add/remove applications and press start.
The Desktop Manager will then show you a list of already installed applications that are on your phone. If you feel you may not have much room to install the WhatsApp program feel free to remove any applications you do not use anymore. Once you are set please choose the “browse” button and then navigate to the location where you had downloaded and placed the WhatsApp application and it’s unzipped files, we are looking for the .alx file. Select the .alf file and then click “open”.
You will then be brought back to the application loader screen and from here make sure the WhatsApp program is selected. Proceed to clicking “Next”.
The application will then start installing and may reboot your phone when the installation is done.
